The Devastating True Scale of Nuclear Weapons
The devastating true scale of nuclear weapons began on July 26, 1945, when the Allies demanded the unconditional surrender of Japan, warning of "prompt and utter destruction" if compliance failed. Japan ignored this ultimatum. By summer, the Allies' Manhattan Project had developed two atomic bombs: the uranium-based "Little Boy" and plutonium-based "Fat Man." A top-secret mission saw six B-29 bombers heading to Hiroshima, with the Enola Gay carrying Little Boy. It was released over Hiroshima on August 6, releasing 15 kilotons of TNT, devastating a 1.6 kilometers radius.
Three days later, Bockscar dropped Fat Man on Nagasaki, resulting in a 21-kiloton explosion. These bombings led to 129,000 to 226,000 deaths, prompting Japan's surrender on August 15, 1945, ending World War II and igniting a nuclear arms race, especially between the USA and the Soviet Union.
The US's most powerful nuclear weapon today is the B83, with a maximum yield of 1.2 megatons of TNT, designed for enhanced safety and varied applications including the "Nuclear Bunker Buster" project and asteroid impact avoidance strategies.
Castle Bravo, detonated on March 1, 1954, remains the most powerful device tested by the US, yielding 15 megatons. The Soviet Union responded by developing the Tsar Bomba, detonated on October 30, 1961, with a yield of 50 megatons, marking the largest human-made explosion.
The nuclear arms race led to the development of extensive arsenals capable of mutual assured destruction (MAD), a doctrine suggesting that nuclear conflict would result in the annihilation of both attacker and defender, effectively deterring outright nuclear war. These developments have left a lasting impact on global politics and security.

I think we are in a world like the one in south park with the jewsians KINDA.....its obviously something weird asf that is going on....

All the comments about possible scenarios when reality is, aliens have been coming to this planet a long, long time. Matter in fact, they created us. They are why we exist. Do they control us? To some extent. They know that we will gladly die fighting against tyranny, as they know from experience, with us, so they understand it’s better to work together than against each other, after all, they are our birth parents…literally. They also understand that we weren’t as dumb as they expected us to be, at least a very small percentage of us.

It always amuses me when graphic artists draw the nuclear exchange over the Atlantic Ocean, as if that were the most efficient means of destroying each other, or Europe getting to watch all the missiles fly overhead. No. The exchange would (mostly) occur over the Arctic Ocean (you know, where Santa Claus lives?) and that's also the path for most of the bombers. God help us if it ever comes down to that. The air raid sirens were extra chilling, Science Time. Thanks. Really. 😩

Isn't it funny that the first Russian A-bomb is described as "more or less a copy of the "Fat Man" - yet, there is no mention in the film of the fact that the Russians have essentially stolen the design via a widespread espionage? Why is that?

I really dont think hiding under your desk or laying next to a street gutter was a saving factor. I suppose that's better then sticking you head between your legs and kissing your ass good bye. ✌❤👍

Surely the illustrated flightpaths shown here are incorrect.... Russia and America are neigboring countries in the Eastern hemisphere much closer than they look on a global map,,, America would send West not East, and Russia to it's East not West? Not to mention the amount of nuclear missile subs that are parked off of each others coasts.

Is it possible to travel to the stars ? In a limited way, maybe. Let me be more clear. The nearest star (a binary system) is Alpha C, five light years away but there are at least ten stars within ten light years away. While staying within the laws of physics as we know them it would be at least that long to get there and that much to return. To go to almost light speed you would accelerate at one earth gravity for about a year. You could stand that, then for four to ten years you would coast at near light speed. En route your craft could be like a spinning wheel so centrifugal force would throw you out to the edge and so supply artificial gravity. When you get near then you turn the craft around and decelerate to the destination. So add two years to the trip. Then you spend what time you want exploring then return. Expect Einsteinian time dilation so to you it wont seem so long as it will actually take. We have the Voyager probe out there now and it is fifty years old. Perhaps you want to send a very advanced AI to do the first survey trip. Then your near descendants will have contact with the nearest stars. That is all nearly possible. You still need a means of propulsion that needs no fuel. Atomic or maybe fusion energy could do that but then you still need to convert that energy to thrust. We don’t have that yet but we are working on it. That is at least more possible than scifi space warps or ftl drives. Hopefully that is in the future, then the light speed craft can be met when they arrive. I would not count on that. Only ten stars ? If you don’t plan to come back, maybe in a sleeper ship, it could be more. If the probes have a way to communicate back, they are AIs, and they don’t decelerate maybe they might reach out more. That might be dangerous. Suppose the Easter Islanders had gone exploring and they contacted the Spanish ? The Galaxy could be, as Cxin Liu has said, a "Dark forest".

Although there are an innumerable amount of stars, planets, does not mean that is life outside of earth. We however have never been single celled organisms. We have always been fully human since God formed us from the dust of the earth
